One of the oldest and most distinctive buildings in Campo Mártires da Pátria, the Solar de Santana — formerly known as Palácio Vaz de Carvalho or Casa das Torrinhas — dates back to 1661.
Archaeological work carried out on and around the site made it possible to recover and preserve valuable historical heritage, contributing to a better understanding of Lisbon’s past.
The rehabilitation project brought major improvements in both quality and habitability, restoring this landmark property to the city while maintaining its architectural integrity and historical character. The renewed residential units now offer modern comfort and enhanced living conditions, with significant upgrades in structural safety, fire protection, thermal and acoustic performance, and the complete replacement of infrastructure systems, including water, sewage, gas, electricity, and telecommunications.
