XII Lisbon Urban Rehabilitation Week

February 25–27 | Beato Innovation District (Fábrica do Pão)

A próxima edição da The Lisbon Urban Rehabilitation Week , promoted by Vida Imobiliária, returns on February 25, 26, and 27 — and ECOCIAF will once again be present as a partner and participant. February 25, 26, and 27.

This three-day event will focus on housing, construction, and sustainability, bringing together leading companies and experts from across the construction and real estate sectors.

Este ano o evento irá decorrer no Beato Innovation DistrictThis year’s edition will take place at the Beato Innovation District, on Avenida Infante Dom Henrique, 145 (Lisbon) — one of Europe’s largest hubs for innovation and entrepreneurship. Located in a redeveloped former military industrial complex on Lisbon’s eastern riverside, Beato connects startups, global companies, and researchers, fostering collaboration between talent, technology, and creativity.

Fruto da transformação de um antigo complexo industrial militar na frente ribeirinha oriental de Lisboa, o Beato Innovation District está hoje em transformação sendo já a casa de vários projetos de inovação e tecnologia, e impulsionador de novas tendências de arte, música, lazer e cultura.

National Urban Rehabilitation Award 2024

For the second year in a row, ECOCIAF has been honored with the National Urban Rehabilitation Award, this time for the project “Construction and Installation of the Graça Funicular”, recognized in the City of Lisbon category.

Carried out as a joint venture between ECOCIAF and Liftech S.A., and designed by architects João Favila Menezes and João Simões from Atelier Bugio, the project was commissioned by EMEL as part of the Accessibility Plan for the Castle Hill, specifically the “Graça Route.”

This intervention not only improved accessibility and urban mobility, but also enhanced the area’s social, economic, and touristic value, preserving and celebrating Lisbon’s historical and cultural heritage.

A particularly challenging project, it required precise technical and architectural execution due to its unique location and historical context, including the medieval Alambor of the Fernandina Wall — a one-of-a-kind structure in Portugal and part of a National Monument.

The National Urban Rehabilitation Award (PNRU), organized by Vida Imobiliária under the High Patronage of the Government of Portugal, stands as one of the country’s most prestigious distinctions in the construction sector — a recognition of professionalism, innovation, and dedication to sustainable urban renewal.

National Urban Rehabilitation Award 2023

Rehabilitation of the Building at Rua da Madalena 88

On May 30, ECOCIAF was honored with the National Urban Rehabilitation Award 2023 for Best Residential Intervention, recognizing our project “Rehabilitation of the Building at Rua da Madalena 88”.

Esta obra, que contou com a promoção da Splendimension, Sicafi e projeto do atelier Bak Gordon ArquitectosPromoted by Splendimension, Sicafi and designed by Bak Gordon Arquitectos, this project was a true source of pride and motivation for our team. More than just restoring a building that risked falling into neglect, this intervention helped enhance its value — not only aesthetically and economically, but also in terms of its heritage importance, contributing to the preservation of Lisbon’s architectural legacy for future generations.
